( painkillers, gauze, stomach medicine. even before the gore of the rituals and the underground fight, they were necessary; if only he had the presence of mind to consider them as important as food and water sooner.
this hospital is depressingly similar to the last, its pharmacy and nearby units emptied. some rooms coughed up enough gauze but not nearly enough painkillers for him to consider leaving. there are still viable rooms and the annexed children's hospital if all else fails...
just when he doubts he can stomach seeing a place like that in ruin, the tenuous hum of electricity goes erratic for the nth time. disorienting, flickering lights dim to match the strange sunset slipping through broken windows. unsettled, yoshiki ducks out of the main corridor into a room that only pings as different because he's no longer alone. he backs up just as quickly, gripping the strap of his sling pack protectively until— )
Oh, Adolphe.
( —relief sets in. the lights still flicker, but slower, like a stabilising heart monitor. it's not enough for him to make out much of the room yet, but that can wait a moment. )
[ Adolphe had picked through a pharmacy for supplies before, though mostly painkillers and gauze... First aid kits, too. When it comes to other medication, he has gotten one of each in case, though he has never been sick before which is a miracle.
Pharmacies have been find to scour, but they've been emptied out, leaving Adolphe to search a hospital. It's empty and yet it has him tense. Mold may run amok and taken every sense, but his heightened sense of smell can still pick up the disinfectants and antiseptics.
A deep breath, though the next gets held when he catches footsteps. Shoulders relax after when he can smell someone familiar, then the appearance not too long after. Even if Yoshiki's arrival may seem abrupt, he saw him coming. ]
Yoshiki. [ Hm... ] Doing better than those people that fought that thing earlier. Are you stocking on supplies?
That's good, I'm glad you got outta there... ( thinking about that fight still makes him jumpy. yuuto never did clarify who he saw—or thought he saw—die, and yoshiki can't find it in himself to ask. )
Yeah, my friend's eye is pretty busted up. Guess you're doing the same?
( the lights stabilise, though dimmer than before, and yoshiki potters into the room proper. from what he can see, this room has nothing of use but maybe that will change after some rummaging around. unless it's already been cleaned out. )
But that makes me wonder again what you meant about not needing a lot of supplies, y'know...
( now that he's closer, he tilts his head and squints, the touch of levity slipping from his expression. adolphe said he's doing better than the others, but… that obscures a lot. ) You're really okay?
[ Because as much as Adolphe would help good people, it doesn't mean he would want to always be in dangerous situations. It isn't something either of them can change—they dodged a bullet and can only help with the aftermath.
Sometimes, the lights flicker with an electric hum bringing them back on. It doesn't look like the cabinets have been pilfered just yet, so maybe they'll find something of use. ]
My body can heal itself... But I think it's a Lycan thing. [ A sigh before he starts checking the cabinets. The bare skin Yoshiki can see has a couple of light cuts. ] I didn't think much of it at first because it was a change I got back at home, too. Until people started talking about how they can't use their abilities and powers.
[ Which again sounds beyond him. ]
I don't heal as fast here, though, so I still need some supplies. Not more than others.
